Christopher S. Bödtker

Christopher is Managing Partner and Chairman of the firm’s Investment Committee. He’s the country partner for the Nordic Region. Christopher sits on the board of various companies and private equity funds.

In 1998, Christopher joined forces with the Lombard Odier Group and founded the bank’s private equity business; his former colleagues from UBS, Thomas Frei and Yvonne Stillhart, joined him in early 1999. In May 2010, Christopher and his partners created the fully independent Akina Ltd through buying out Lombard Odier’s stake in the business.

Earlier in his career, Christopher worked for 13 years with UBS in investment banking in Europe, the Americas and Asia. He left UBS as Managing Director in charge of European merchant banking activities, having grown the unit to become the European leader in leveraged, mezzanine and structured equity financing.

Christopher holds an MBA from Babson College, Massachusetts and is fluent in German, English, Spanish and the Scandinavian languages. A Norwegian national, Christopher is married and has five children.

In 1999, Thomas joined Lombard Odier private equity as Managing Director. In addition to his country partner roles, he set up and managed Akina’s Finance & Administration function for five years as Chief Financial Officer, and in 2007 established the Marketing & Investor Relations unit.

Before joining the company, Thomas worked for 11 years with UBS in investment banking in Europe and the Americas. He left UBS as Executive Director, heading the European structured finance transaction team where he managed a portfolio of leveraged, mezzanine and minority equity deals worth EUR 1.6 billion across Continental Europe.

Thomas holds a Masters’ degree in Economics and Finance from Zurich University and is fluent in German, English, French, and also speaks Italian. A Swiss national, Thomas is married and has two children.

Mark joined Lombard Odier private equity in 2001, becoming a Managing Director in 2004. He led the company’s successful expansion into Central and Eastern Europe. Today, he heads the Investment Advisory Unit, which advises on execution and portfolio management of fund and direct investments.

Before joining the company, Mark worked for Hilti in Germany where he was responsible for market development in East Germany and later for a business segment for all of Germany. He then joined McKinsey Switzerland as a consultant before helping set up an e-commerce business in 2000.

Mark holds a Masters’ degree in Industrial Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and is fluent in German, English, Spanish and French. A Swiss national, Mark is married and has two children.

Before joining Akina, Francesco worked in the corporate M&A team of ABB in Zurich where he was responsible for business development of the Automation Products Division. Francesco's responsibilities were spread across the full chain of activities from deal origination to execution. He participated in acquisitions and divestment projects in North and South America, Europe, the Middle and Far East. 

Francesco holds a Master's Degree cum laude in Economics, Statistics and Social Sciences with a major in industrial economy and corporate finance from Bocconi University in Milan. He is fluent in Italian and English and conversant in German. An Italian national, Francesco is married and has three children.

Before joining the company, Christian worked at SCM Strategic Capital Management, a Swiss-based private equity advisor, where he was responsible for the sourcing and execution of private equity and real estate fund investments in the US, Europe and Asia. Before SCM, Christian worked for four years at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an engagement manager on audits as well as financial advisory and consulting projects, mainly in the financial services industry.

Christian holds a Ph.D. and a Masters Degree in Economics and Business Administration with a major in Finance from University of St Gallen. He is a Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) and is fluent in German and English and conversant in French. A Swiss national, Christian is married and has two children.

Before joining the company, Ralf worked at Lombard Odier Group in Zurich and Paris, spending four years in the Corporate Finance team. His experience includes transactions such as going publics, capital increases, restructurings, public tender offers and private buy- and sell-side M&A transactions. Prior to Lombard Odier, Ralf spent three years at Dresdner Bank rotating through various divisions of the bank in Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Hong Kong.

Ralf holds a Doctorate in Finance from Basel University and a Masters Degree in Economics acquired at Freiburg University and the University of Michigan. He is fluent in German, English and French. A German / Swiss national, Ralf is married and has three children.

Before joining the company, Natalia worked at Banca del Gottardo (today known as BSI), one of the leading Swiss banks, where she was instrumental in the development and implementation of business strategy for the CEE region. She also participated in the bank’s restructuring programme, particularly in the strategic reorientation of frontline processes and the new market positioning of the bank. Prior to her work at Banca del Gottardo, Natalia worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Moscow as a tax and legal consultant.

Natalia holds a B.Sc. Degree in Economics from Moscow International University and an MBA from Fisher College of Business. She is fluent in Russian and English, and speaks German. A Russian national, Natalia is married and has two children.

Before joining the company, Viktor worked at ABB Corporate Finance where he was actively involved in several of the ABB Group’s refinancing programmes. He also participated in setting up new financial processes and tools to evaluate, improve and control capital investments as well as real estate transactions and valuations for the whole group. Before that, he worked at ABB Financial Services where he gained experience in private equity and structured finance.

Viktor holds a Masters Degree in Economics and Business Administration with a major in Finance from the University of Lausanne (HEC). He is fluent in French, English, Spanish and German and speaks Portuguese and Swedish. A Swiss national, Viktor is married and has two children.
